Summer Trip to Europe is Off!!

If you have read my blogs you would have seen one detailing my planned trip to Europe this summer. Unfortunately i wont be going, Im 3 months pregnant so it would be rather inappropriate!!! Its been tough coming to the end of an honours degree with morning sickness and unbelievable tiredness so i think 2 months of festivals will kill me!!! Anyway its not the end of the world its just one summer and i can drag my little family along with me to many more in the future..!

Final Days of College!!!!!

Finish up in college forever this week and it still couldn't be sooner!!! I enjoyed the years in Dundalk met great people and had brillliant times but never again will i step into a classroom its been long, tough and im glad its over....four years literally working 7 days a week and nothing to show but a piece of paper and i haven't even got that yet!!! I dont know why i ever started and remained in this course, Hospitality Management, i would of learned more valuable stuff if i had followed my gut and studied through the industry, id probably be years ahead of myself now but i stayed because ' iv gone this far'!!! Well its over so good luck to all my classmates and i hope we all enjoy a better future from this.

Web Standards

Web Standards is a relatively new type of rules set for website design...Like the rules of the road the standards aren't quite legislation but its ethical and appropriate to follow them..developed by the non profit organisation World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) as guidelines to how webpages should be standardised for instance any person without discrimination (blind, Deaf etc) can use the site...to learn more visit the W3C website.

Search Engine Optimisation

Search Engine Optimsation is what a company uses to increase traffic through its website. Its based around keywords, image searches or industry specific seaches etc. Search Engine Otimisation can help improve awareness of your company or webpage, it is often found that when a word, company or anything is entered into a search engine generally it is the first couple of websites listed that are clicked on by the user. However now websites can pay, Google etc to be on the top of the list so your not guaranteed to get the best quality website anymore!!

Mobile phones linked with customer databases

Recently in my job we have started to use customer mobile phone numbers to aid advertising of certain events. I work in a restaurant called The Vanilla Pod, what we are doing is when we bring customers their bill a card in which they fill in their details (name, mobile numbers etc) is attachached. The information we recieve is passed up to administartion on a weekly basis and stored in a database.
Its a usefull tool to us in a busy restaurant because a lot of our customers are regulars and our kept up to date with events such as wine tastings and save us workers time on the telephone explaning all these details.
Its a new convienient tool for us and so far in its 4 months of implementation has been successful and long may it continue.

Rave Rave Rave......eh for babies???

Just heard about this new craze hitting Ireland, Babes Raves , Basically its a rave for kids between 0-4 years...How bizarre is that!!! But it does sort of make sense a lot of these young kiddies have young kiddie mammies who may not get the chance to rave on all night like they used to, so now they can bring the kids!!!! Its not an all night party its during the day so no need to call the Social Workers yet!!!! Imagine it though, it would be so funny, im bringing my niece on friday!!!! RAVE ON!!!!
